Abide in Me

Remain in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. John 15:4

Tuesday at the Shelter

Althea- She said "are you gonna pray for me?" when I came over to her bed. She has such a sweet spirit. She's not been doing much of anything lately, she said. She's 44 and has 5 grown kids in this area. Her desire is to work with the elderly but she has to have ID, so she's waiting for her Birth Certificate from her dad, who is sending it from Beaverton, OR. She also has siblings in this area but they are not interested in having her stay with them. We prayed for housing, motivation and favor in her job search after she gets her ID together and that she'd get back to church - one she named that she is a member of but hasn't been to in a long time.

Shea- she was mugged in CA and her arm was badly broken, along with a rib and a bruised face. At 50, she's never been homeless or seen this sort of life. She has always worked and had an apartment. I think she's quite educated and has a good head on her shoulders; just hit some hard times and maybe because of alcohol- but I don't know. When she arrived in Seattle, 4 days after her injury, she went to the hospital and had to have a plate put into her arm, which is now in a cast and her fingers are still numb. We prayed for healing from her injuries and that she would strongly sense Jesus' love and presence as she continues to work her way back to well-being, working and getting independent. She really loves the Lord, which came out when she prayed, even for me.
