tuesday at the shelter

Renee- such a smily 47 year old lady. she grew up knowing the Lord. She's only been homeless about a month and this is her first time. She's really ready to get into a home because this is not the lifestyle for her. As she was talking, a fight broke out between two ladies. They were yelling about a black jacket. It went on quite awhile and we were all closing in on them, but no one said anything. What do you say? Sometimes we'll get a volatile one and there could be real trouble.
They cooled off after they went out for a smoke.
I prayed for Renee - for housing, for healing from her cold, and for good family relationships.

Dena-bless her heart. she is one I met when I first started there over 3 years ago. she had enough work as a caregiver recently to stay out of the shelter and now she is collecting unemployment. she just can't seem to get enough together to get a place to call home. she asked for prayer for her 29 y.o. daughter who had a cancerous brain tumor removed last year. there is a 50-75% chance it will return. We prayed for healing and that the cancer would be gone in Jesus' name, for her daughter's toddler and husband and for the Lord to provide a home for Dena.
